The ideal candidate for this role will bring a mix of technical print finishing knowledge, analytical accuracy, and communication skills. They should be confident interpreting job specifications, understanding material and labor costs, and working closely with production and leadership teams to ensure each quote reflects both efficiency and profitability.

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in print, packaging, or finishing estimating, ideally within a manufacturing or production environment.

• Familiarity with finishing processes such as lamination, die cutting, mounting, and UV coating.

• Experience using Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, or similar estimating/job-costing tools.

• Comfortable reviewing and interpreting artwork layouts, material specs, and production run data.

Skills

• Analytical & Detail-Oriented: Able to calculate materials, labor, and machine time accurately with minimal oversight.

• Process-Minded: Understands how small changes in setup or materials affect overall cost and efficiency.

• Communication: Can clearly explain quote details and production assumptions to both technical and non-technical teammates.

• Collaboration: Works closely with production, scheduling, and leadership to align estimates with real-world capabilities.

• Organization & Time Management: Handles multiple quotes simultaneously under tight timelines.

• Continuous Improvement: Identifies cost or workflow inefficiencies and proposes practical solutions.

Nice-to-Have

• Prior experience in a print finishing or large-format manufacturing environment.

• Understanding of job costing, margin analysis, or process optimization.

• Ability to assist in developing standardized quote templates or estimating databases.
