Position Adjunct Faculty, Art and Art History Department: Art & Art History, Gettysburg College Job Type: Tenure‑Track Adjunct Faculty (Spring 2026) Location: Gettysburg, PA Position Information The Department of Art and Art History at Gettysburg College invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty position to teach two undergraduate courses during the Spring 2026 semester. The appointment includes Introduction to Modern and Contemporary Art, a survey of key artistic movements and themes from the mid‑nineteenth century to the present, and Art After 1945, a critical examination of postwar and postmodern artistic practices. This position offers an opportunity to engage with a vibrant liberal arts community and contribute to the department’s dynamic art history curriculum. Responsibilities Teach Introduction to Modern and Contemporary Art. Teach Art After 1945. Prepare lesson plans, lectures and examinations. Participate in faculty meetings and departmental activities. Qualifications Doctoral degree (or ABD) in art history or art criticism. Previous undergraduate teaching experience preferred. Strong scholarly record in modern and contemporary art.
