Nuclear Engineer
Key Role:
Design and construct nuclear reactors and power plants. Monitor the operations of nuclear power plants to ensure efficiency and safety. Apply advanced skills, extensive technical expertise, and full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction. Mentor and supervise team members.
Basic Qualifications: \n - 5+ years of experience with systems engineering approaches to nuclear weapons effects or development and use of physics-based nuclear weapons effects models
\n - Experience with reverse engineering and facility and vulnerability assessments of foreign nuclear capabilities
\n - Knowledge of nuclear science, nuclear fuel cycle, and nuclear and radiation effects, such as EMP or HANE
\n - Knowledge of nuclear engineering and sub-disciplines of thermo-hydraulics, seismic or earthquake, physics, computational science, or fission reactor engineering
\n - Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
\n - Bachelor's degree in a Nuclear Engineering or Physics field
\n

Additional Qualifications: \n - Experience leading or supporting military projects for the DoD, IC or other agencies, including nuclear command, control, and communications, survivability, weapons control technology, or hard target defeat
\n - Experience with nuclear weapons effects modeling and simulation tools
\n - Knowledge of systems engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning
\n - TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
\n - Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering or Applied Physics preferred; Doctorate degree in Nuclear Engineering or Applied Physics a plus
\n - Certified Nuclear Professional Certification
\n - Professional Engineer Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
